Daughters of Simone Lookbook- Revelry Sisters Collection

I have admired the Daughters of Simone Bridal line for some time now, so when I was asked to do hair and makeup for their lookbook featuring their new line of bridesmaid dresses and rompers I could not pass up the opportunity! These girls are on FIRE   and definitely have an eye for bridal and fashion. I can honestly say that I loved every single piece and although they are meant as bridal dresses, I would gladly wear any of the dresses or rompers to any event. Here are a few pictures of the hair and makeup that I styled with Kelly Jones, as well as their new line! Enjoy!

Ruffled Wedding Blog Feature: 4th of July Inspired Shoot

I was so excited when I was contacted to do the hair for a shoot for the popular Ruffled Wedding Blog. Not only did I get to work with some of my favorite vendors, I was able to visit an amazing local venue that I hadn't been to before ,and be a part of a 4th of July shoot that was totally outside of the box and filled with bright summer colors!

Winter Already?

Is it really November? I cant believe how quickly this summer  this year has flown by! I have been so incredibly blessed to have had the opportunities I have had and to have met the people that I have this year. 20 weddings, 4 photo shoots, 1 fashion show, and many long nights styling hair for friends and family have lead me to where I am now this year. I may be a little tired but I am eager and feeling over the moon with happiness from all the opportunities that I have had. Although the year is not yet over, I am afraid that if I don't write this down now I may not have a chance during the chaos of the holidays! I want to give a big shout out to Kelly Jones who has been there with me every step of the way this year, she has always had faith in me and inspires me with her drive and passion for this business. I love learning from each other and love having you as a business partner! Id also like to thank Eileen Tanner from E Events Co. for involving me in some amazing projects this summer that allowed me to be featured on some very established, well known wedding blogs and websites ( which I will talk more about later). And last but not least, Matt & Marina of Two Foxes Photography. You guys are a seriously incredible team and are in a league of your own. Your photos really bring all of our hard work to life and I feel so lucky to have the pictures and memories to cherish and share with the world!
I will be uploading some pictures that I was able to catch on my phone to the above wedding tab, keep checking back for more updates :)

UPDATE: Lilac Wedding

I absolutely love when my clients send me pictures of there wedding. Its such an amazing opportunity to be a part of a brides big day, you are there during the calm before the storm and get to connect with the bride on such a deep level. I was so lucky to have been able to be a part of this lovely brides day and when I showed up to a house full of family members making cupcakes and getting things ready for the day I could sense such a strong family connection I felt right at home. She sent me a few pictures of her and her new husband and they are too beautiful not to share!

AG Hair Care Product Review

This is my  first product review, Ill start by saying I am UH-DICTED  to hair products. I have drawers full and my husband thinks Im nuts but I cant get enough! I have found a few products that I cant live without throughout the years but I recently came across the AG hair product line and I honestly don't think I need to look any further! I started out with a sample of their Fast Food Shampoo and Conditioner. At first I was hesitant to try a regime where the conditioner is put on after the shower and not rinsed out but I have to admit my hair loved it. I went to the beauty supply and purchased them both and a few other products and what do you know, I loved them too! Now its been a few months since I came across this line and I have probably tried almost every product and have not been disappointed. Everyone that knows me knows that I LOVE big hair, the bigger the hair the better and any products that can help me get there are even better. I have found 3 amazing products by this line that I am now obsessed with and recommend to anyone and everyone...

  1. Big Wigg Root Volumizer- This stuff is the REAL DEAL! It doesn't matter what type of hair you have this product will give you volume and life back into your hair. I use this product on everyone including myself
  2. High & Dry Matte Volume & Finish- Ok, this product will seriously blow your mind. Forget whatever you know about volumizing sprays being sticky or leaving your hair greasy and heavy. This lightweight product has a strong finish and will seriously turn on the volume and vamp up curls. I use this everyday and its my newest find from this line.
  3. Texture Spray Defining & Finishing Spray- If you love having tousled hair and love the look of beachy waves but don't like those sticky texture sprays this is the product for you. I hate straightening my hair because I do like volume and love the piecy look that curls or waves give and this product leaves your hair shiny and piecy without the stickiness and the feel of product in your hair.
Did I mention that all of their products smell AMAZING!?!

How to add Accessories to your Updo

I want to apologize for my lack of postings in the last few month, I decided to take a couple college classes and during my first semester I was learning how to juggle school, work, and my personal life (or lack there of). This summer I will be making a point to keep up with my blogging, as I will have lots to share! There are a lot of fun and exciting things I have planned this summer, including a lot of weddings, that I cant wait to share with you guys!

So, with wedding season having already started I thought I would make tonights post a fun one, about something I have found a lot of brides are indecisive and sometimes insecure about... ACCESSORIES! Doesn't sound too scary, right? Well I don't usually get the chance to work with hair accessories during the trial because the bride is either uncertain about what style she wants, she may not even have her dress yet, and hell maybe she was too busy to have picked one up yet! Nevertheless, bridal hair accessories like everything else with a "wedding" label, can be expensive. I was so spoiled when this beautiful bride walked in with a box of gorgeous accessories from her aunts bridal store.

First, we established the style she wanted...

Than came the accessories!!

She had the most beautiful hair! All of the accessories looked great, she will be wearing a veil on the day of her wedding so that is something you also want to keep in mind. All of these pieces give off a different vibe; rustic, classic, chic, and glamorous.
Sometimes a simple texture such as a twist, or a braid can be all the accessory you need! Its  important to play around and get what is right for you and your style. Just remember to keep it simple and stay true to yourself and what you want.

It happened to be her bridal shower the day of her trial so I wanted to give her a style that would hint towards her wedding day do without giving it all away.

I spy Kelly Jones doing what shes does best on this lovely bride ;)
